GMRS Radio Train-the-Trainer

The Hoodland Emergency Communications System (HECS) thorough the Hoodland Community Planning Organization (CPO) will be training a group of Community Sparkplugs in the operations of GMRS radios. These folks will then be able to train their neighbors how to use the radios if cellular communications is lost during an emergency such as during a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS).

A GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) radio is a licensed, two-way radio service in the United States that uses UHF frequencies (around 462 and 467 MHz) for short-range, two-way voice communication, requiring an FCC license for operation.

If you are interested in being trained to use the GMRS radio contact the Hoodland CPO.
